There’s an exciting new wave of tech talent coming into fashion design software.
For the first time, designers in the fashion industry have a platform that’s built on open source software and open source hardware.
“The reason why we’re doing this is we don’t have any funding or funding opportunities for a lot of the designers out there.
We need to do something for them,” says Jonathan Geddes, founder of Zesto Design, a new fashion software startup.
Geddes is one of many designers who are seeing the future of fashion design through the eyes of open source.
Gedds has worked at brands like Calvin Klein, Prada, Tommy Hilfiger and LVMH.
In the past, designers have had to rely on proprietary software for their designs.
But Gedders software, Zestos Fashion, is open source and uses a platform called OpenDesign.
Gawns says it’s a way for designers to get started building their design for a new product without having to rely solely on proprietary designs.
“It’s open source,” he says.
While Geddis is a software designer, he also sees a potential in open source design tools for developers.
“It’s a great opportunity for people to get involved in building software and the designers can be part of that,” he explains.
The platform that is ZestOS Fashion is based on OpenDesign, an open source fashion software platform that uses OpenDesign software to develop and distribute custom software for designers.
The platform also uses a tool called OpenFabric to build design software for the industry.
It has the ability to build custom tools for designers and to be used by other designers to build their own tools, which then can be used to build products.
Zestos Fabric is a tool that allows designers to create their own custom software, and can be configured to work with different platforms.
It’s built for designers, and it also lets designers build their custom software on top of OpenFabri.
“The designers can build it from the ground up and the hardware they need, so the design can be tailored to a specific client,” Geddys says.
OpenFabri can be installed on hardware like Raspberry Pis or Arduino, and Geddies is hoping it will eventually be available for commercial use.
According to Geddics, open source clothing software is becoming more and more popular in the industry because it’s open.
It’s easy for designers in certain industries to access software and tools, and to make money from it.
“I’ve been in a business that was building custom software and we had to make sure that everything that we did was open source, because that’s what makes it profitable,” Gawnes says.
“There’s a whole lot of software that you can do, and the only way to make that profitable is to make it open source.”
“I’m working with a group of designers who want to create an open design software platform.
They want to build it as open as possible.
And they want to have a way to access the code to build the software.”
Zesto Fashion is hoping that OpenFabrie will help designers to start their own designs.
The company is also working on a mobile app to allow designers to publish their designs to the OpenFabry platform.
Zestop is working with the open source platform OpenFabrics to offer its platform as a free service to developers, and hopes to offer it as a commercial product for designers once OpenFabries development platform is available.
One of the biggest challenges for designers is getting their designs published on the OpenDesign platform, and creating an open, flexible platform that can be accessed by developers and designers alike.
“We’re going to create a platform where we can make that happen,” Giddes says, “and we can actually bring a lot more designers into the Open Design world.”
