Riccarde Tiscci, the Italian fashion designer whose works have made him a household name, has won the Design of The Year award for his latest fashion collection for Men’s Wearhouse.
Tisci’s latest collection, titled the New York Collection, was released on Wednesday, but its release came at the end of a tumultuous year for fashion designer.
His fashion brand, which includes the Tisca, Tisco, Toni and Giuseppe and Salvatore Ferragamo label, was forced to close its doors in March due to debt and management issues, and was ultimately sold in July.
In October, he announced his intention to sell his business to the company that owns the Italian label, and in November he said that he was looking to make his own fashion brand.
In February, he won the prestigious American Fashion Design Awards for his collections, including his latest collection for Louis Vuitton, which included a line of dress shirts and blouses that included a black-and-white striped shirt.
His winning design for the Louis Vuitons was named “New York,” and the shirt was also featured on a collection by designer Michael Kors.
Tischci, who also created the dress shirts, told Vogue magazine that he had a great time working with the Louis, but that he felt the fashion industry needed to do more to better cater to young women.
